Bowling Machines Are Dangerous – THINK SAFTEY AT ALL TIMES!
To make use of one of our BOLA machines the hirer must agree to the following:
1. The operator is OVER 18ys
2. That all batters will be protected by the minimum of:
3. All batters are over the age of 12yrs
4. That only the batter and the machine operator are in the net and all spectators are on the viewing area
5. All users will take time to familiarise themselves with the machine and assimilate the speed and bounce of the delivery before delivering to a batter
6. The hire will not tamper with the machine or remove any screens or safety guards
7. That all adjustments of speed or length are done with the knowledge of the batter
8. Speed and length are set to suit the individual batter
9. ONLY bowling machine balls will be used in the machine
10. The hire will report any damage to the machine to: 07970491784
11. The hirer will satisfy themselves that the machine is safe before using it
12. The hire understands that is there is no first aider on site and that they are using the machine entirely at their own risk.

Booking Contract Terms and Conditions
The booking described in the booking contract is made subject to the following conditions:
1. Payment
A statement of the facilities hired and the prices is shown on the booking confirmation. All sessions are payable in full at the time of booking. Receipts are available on request. Payment constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Following receipt of your booking form and payment Polstead Cricket Lane will email confirmation of your booking.
2. Cancellation
a) By Polstead Cricket Lane. – Polstead Cricket Lane the right at any time to withdraw the use of the facilities if they have become unfit for use, or for any other reason deemed to be appropriate, giving advanced warning, wherever possible, to the user. The hiring cost will be refunded but Polstead Cricket Lane will not be liable for any other expenses incurred by the hirer. Please note that refunds or transfers to be issued due to injury or illness need to be supported by an official doctor’s certificate confirming that the participant’s physical health is no longer suitable to take part in the session. Cancellations to any winter bookings caused by adverse weather conditions will not result in any refunds unless the Centre is closed by Polstead Cricket Lane. Where possible an alternative date will be found to replace the cancelled booking, although this may not be possible.
b) By the Hirer – AT LEAST SEVEN DAYS notice is required to be given for cancellation of a booking by the hirer, notwithstanding any intention of re-booking at another time. Refunds / credit will be issued if the cancellation is made 7 days or more prior to the booking.
3. Dress
Appropriate sporting clothing / tracksuit must be worn at all times. Indoor soft non-marking soled shoes must be worn. Any form of jeaned clothing is not permitted. Polstead Cricket Lane reserves the right to stop any booked session continuing if any persons are not suitably dressed for the activity with no refund of monies.
4. Attendance
Bookings are taken on the hour, any time required for setting up or dismantling equipment may be within that usage time. Customers arriving early for a booking may not make their way into the Sports Hall until the previous booking has ended. At the end of the hiring time, users must leave the hall promptly, and will be charged at the full hourly rate for any over run.
In the case of cricket nets, a maximum of SIX players per net will be accepted if Polstead Cricket Lane deem there to be an unsafe number of attendees (more than six in a net) they will ask additional players to leave the sports hall.
Customers may not take any food or drink (other than water) into the Sports Hall. Glass containers are not permitted in any areas. Spectators may watch from the viewing areas ONLY.
Bowling machines are available without the supervision of Polstead Cricket Lane, a maximum of 3 players per net will be accepted and at least 1 member of the group needs to be over 18. It is the responsibility of the user to operate the machine in a safe manner. Unsafe usage will result in termination of the session with no refund and bowling machine access being denied to the user for future bookings. On booking an additional terms and conditions would have been read and accepted by the booker.
Polstead Cricket Lane nor any of its staff nor persons involved with the organization of the Polstead Cricket Lane accepts liability for any losses or additional expenses incurred by any participant or their parents or guardians due to injury or sickness, strikes or any other cause beyond their control whilst at a Polstead Cricket Lane.
5. Parking
Customers attending Polstead Cricket Lane must park in the designated parking area. Customers should be aware that there are many vehicle movements on the yard and the utmost care should be taken when making their way to the centre.

7. Responsibility of the hiring organisation
The hirer is responsible for the conduct of all visitors involved with their booking, for the hire and care of any additional equipment involved and for making good any loss or damage to the property of the Centre. The written consent of the Centre Manager must be obtained for any broadcast or filming rights and the Centre reserves the right to take part in any negotiations and to share in any income and/or publicity therefrom. It is a condition of the booking that all regulations made by the Centre Manager for the safety and convenience of users will be observed. The hirer shall indemnify Polstead Cricket Lane against all claims, demands, actions or proceedings arising out of the use of the Centre, otherwise than as a result of the defective condition of the Centre or its equipment or the willful negligence of Polstead Cricket Lane, its agents, officers or servants. Hirers are responsible for protecting their obligations under these conditions by affecting an appropriate insurance policy. The Centre Manager may require the hirer to effect in advance of the hiring insurance cover in the joint names of Polstead Cricket Lane and the hirer, and to produce evidence thereof.
Coaches must have their own public liability insurance in place.
Clubs must have their own public liability insurance in place.
There is no first aider supplied by Polstead Cricket Lane.
8. Disputes
In the event of any matter arising which is not covered by any of the preceding conditions, or concerning the interpretation of these conditions, the decision off Polstead Cricket Lane shall be final.
If a customer, parent or guardian would like to make a complaint to Polstead Cricket Lane they should contact the office by phone, email or post. The customer, parent or guardian will be contacted within 3 working days of the complaint being received, however the complaints procedure may take up to 2 weeks.
